A. Iron Removal

Advanced Iron Removal Plant (AIRP)

The AIRP by Headwheel uses German-made KATALOX LIGHT media — the world's most advanced iron filter media — to remove iron up to 29 ppm. Certified under ANSI/NSF 61 & 372 and tested by CSIR-IMMT.

Technical Process

Step 1 — Dosing

NaOCl (0.8–2.0 L/hr @ 10% concentration) dosed online for oxidation, disinfection, and prevention of media fouling. Automatic dosing pump with flow-linked control.

Step 2 — Iron Filtration

Water passes through FRP vessel (36"×72") loaded with KATALOX LIGHT media (min. 1,540 L) with gravel support. Auto backwash based on pre-set time — no manual intervention.

Step 3 — Carbon Polishing

Final polishing through Activated Carbon filter (3rd FRP vessel 36"×72" or 48"×72") removes taste, odour and residual chlorine. 450–1,000 L carbon media capacity.

Advantages of Fully Automatic Multiport Valve (A-MPV)

Hassle-free automated rinsing, filtration & backwashing — no manual operation required
Auto backwash based on pre-determined working hours — reduces water wastage
Controls under/high voltage — protects pump from dry running and overload
Extends plant life and maintains efficiency over time
Remote monitoring capability — view plant status from anywhere
Auto pump on/off controls to prevent tank overflow
Error message display for instant fault detection
Reduces chances of human error significantly

B. Arsenic Removal

Arsenic Removal System — TITANSORB

TITANSORB — Titanium Dioxide based media — the most advanced arsenic adsorbent available. Removes arsenic below WHO permissible limit of 0.01 mg/L. No regeneration chemicals required.

Advantages of TITANSORB Media
Highest Arsenic Loading capacity
Operates in wider pH range
Highest purity — food-grade safe
Very high adsorption capacity
No regeneration chemical required
Simple manual or automatic systems
EBCT: 0.5–3 minutes only
Removes arsenic in millions of gallons worldwide
Reduced equipment footprint
Fast kinetics — extremely quick uptake
How TITANSORB Works

Titanium Dioxide is a widely available compound mined from natural minerals. TITANSORB™ is a new advanced Water Treatment Media for removing arsenic. After iron filtration, water passes through the 2nd FRP Pressure Vessel (36"×72") containing TITANSORB media (min. 1,540 L).

The TITANSORB media adsorbs arsenic and other heavy metals through surface complexation, achieving output levels well below 0.01 mg/L (WHO guideline).

C. Fluoride Removal

Fluoride Removal System — SAFEDEF

SAFEDEF — a high-efficiency fluoride removal media — rapidly becoming the media of choice for removing fluoride from portable and community water supply schemes.

Product Name:SAFEDEF
Use:Removal of Excess Fluoride
Origin:Natural Mineral
State:Solid Grain
Color:White
Solubility:Insoluble in water
Bulk Density:1.33 g/ml
Particle Size:0.5 – 1.0 mm
Removal Efficiency:99%
Regeneration:NaOH (3%~5%), 6–12 hrs
Warranty:5 Years
Technical Advantages
High capacity with shorter contact time
Does NOT release harmful substances into water
Safe — no dissolution of toxic/hazardous substances
99% fluoride removal efficiency
Steady capacity under ionic competition (hardness etc.)
Lower regeneration cost, simple process
Fluoride Removal Mechanism
Fluoride Removal Mechanism:
Based on OH⁻ ion exchange — fluoride replaces hydroxyl ions in SAFEDEF media. Regeneration with 3–5% NaOH reverses the reaction for media reuse. CSIR-certified performance data available.
