About Desalination & India's Salinity Problem
Inland groundwater salinity in India occurs mainly in Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, UP, Delhi, Odisha, and Bihar. Salinity makes groundwater undrinkable, forcing communities to rely on expensive alternatives.
Reverse Osmosis uses high pressure to force water through semi-permeable membranes that block salt and impurities. Solar-powered RO makes this technology accessible to remote areas without reliable electricity.
